Overview of Testing Schedule for 2016-2017

 

 September 2016 

6-23                     Brigance (Grades: Kindergartenand FACE):

Purpose: Cognitive, Physical Development, Language, Literacy, and Mathematics, Individually tested by classroom teacher.

Time: 20 minutes.

Results: Shared at fall parent conferences

 

14-30                   Beginning of Year – NWEA- MAP (K-11): Northwest Evaluation Association-Measure of Academic Progress

Purpose: District adaptive test used to measure student progress over time. Measures student academic growth in

Math, Reading and Science over time and informs classroom instruction and individual student progress.

Time: 45 minutes, online

Results: Shared with parents at conferences

 October 2016

TBA  AIMSweb Plus Beginning of Year (Grades K-8 Math/Reading)

Purpose: District measure used to monitor student progress. Informs classroom instruction and individual student progress.

Time: 3-5 minutes, online

Results: Shared with parents during conferencing

 November 2016

29 ACCUPLACER (Grades 10-12):

Purpose: Optional - two-year Minnesota College Entrance Exam to determine college readiness

Time: 1.5 hours, online

Results: Shared with students when they complete testing

 December 2016

7  ASVAB online (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery)

Purpose: Optional - Aptitude Battery

Time: 3 hours, online

Results: Shared with students and mailed home

 January 2017

9-30                     Middle of Year AIMSweb Plus Grades K-8 Math/Reading

10-31                  Middle of Year – NWEA (K-12)

 

March 2017

14                        ACCUPLACER- online grades 10-12

6- May 5              Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments and MTAS (Reading/Math/Science)

Purpose: Required for State and federal accountability. The MCA’s measure student performance related to the Minnesota state academic standards in reading, math, and science. Informs content alignment to state standards decisions system-wide

Time: 2-4 hours, online

Results: Teachers discuss with students and results are mailed home

April 2017          

4-30                     MCA Testing Reading & Math

19                        ACT + Writing grade 11: ACT College and Career Readiness System, online:

                             Purpose: Measures student academic college readiness.

State required opportunity to take the ACT + Writing for all Juniors

Time: 4 hours, online

Results: Results are mailed to student home by ACT

May 2017

2-26                     End of Year NWEA (K-11 & FACE)                         

1-31                     End of Year AIMSweb Plus grades K-8 Math/Reading                          

5                          Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment MTAS Ends
